Pets of all shapes and sizes matter to us, and we love shelter animals. That’s why we are glad to know that a few of our pet residents have been rescued from a local shelter.

Adopt, Don’t Shop: Why Adopt a Shelter Animal?

There are many reasons why adopting your next pet from a shelter near Port Liberte is a great idea. Here are just three reasons why:

3. You Will Make a Difference in Your Community

By adopting a dog or cat from the local animal shelters, you help your community by reducing the number of homeless animals on the streets and by giving your new friend a loving home.

2. You May Have Heard the Myths…

What if you want a puppy? Or a guinea pig? Or what about an Airedale Terrier? You might be thinking, “I can’t possibly find the animal I’m looking for.”

Actually, you can!

The Northeast operates several breed-specific rescues that are not far from Port Liberte, making it easy for you to find your furry friend — whether he or she is an English Bulldog, Golden Retriever, or a Siamese cat.

And did you know that you can also find a purebred pet in the local shelters? The Humane Society estimates that about 25% of dogs in shelters are purebred.

1. You Can Find Your New Best Friend

The dogs and cats in the local shelters are eager to find their new best friend — you! And you can offer them a warm home, a lap to sleep on, and all of the love and attention that they crave.
